Duchess Sophie always manages to fly under the royal radar, but as the fourth hardest-working member of the British royal family, I’m as impressed by her causes as I am her effortless style. This past weekend was no exception as the Duchess of Edinburgh popped up at the Lighthouse, a community hub in Woking, England, for her first engagement of the new year. As patron, Sophie was there to roll up her sleeves alongside volunteers who were prepping for a relocation as the Lighthouse’s current workplace gets redeveloped. But it was her work-ready (and winter-friendly) separates that most caught my eye—and had me wanting to overhaul my closet.

TBH, it’s a sartorial recipe that feels plucked straight from Kate Middleton’s book. A chic midi skirt in a dark hue (similar here) matched with a structured (and belted) blazer with military-inspired detailing. As the finishing touch, she wore a pair of suede boots from Penelope Chilvers, a brand frequently worn by members of the royal family, but especially Princess Catherine. (I’m also pretty obsessed with her Isabel Marant Oskan Moon bag, a style she’s reached for before.)

Altogether, Sophie’s ensemble is chic, polished and pulled together—it’s also pretty practical, too. Take one look at the video posted by the royal family from the engagement and it’s clear that even in inclement weather (it appears to be pouring), she still looks lovely and unflappable. I really do think this is one of my favorite Sophie looks to date.

So, how can you work it into your own closet? Start by shopping the three pieces—which each offer a similarly regal vibe—below.
