Thanksgiving just might be one of the hardest holidays to dress for. Yes, you want to wear something cute, cozy and maybe even a little bit festive, but what's more important as you head for that third piece of pie before curling up on the couch for a family movie? Comfort. And since it's not always the easiest task to find styles that combine all of the above, I went ahead and scoured the internet for you to find ten of the best comfortable dresses that would be perfect to wear this Thanksgiving (and long after your leftovers are finished, too).

Do I have plans for Thanksgiving this year? No. Am I seriously considering buying this dress to wear around my apartment anyway? Absolutely. Not only am I completely obsessed with the velvet material and subtle floral print, but I love that it has a swingy style that will leave plenty of room for as many helpings of dessert as I want. And that trendy ruffled Peter Pan collar is just the cherry on top.

I do, in fact, already have this dress just waiting in my closet for the perfect occasion to wear it, and I can confirm that it's one of the most comfy options out there—that also happens to be stylish, too. It's made from a lightweight satin fabric and has an overall relaxed fit, which is likely why more than 100 shoppers have left it rave reviews. "This dress is so flattering and it has POCKETS!!! I felt stunning in this dress and I love the lightweight material. It's a perfect fall color and could be layered with tights into the colder months of the year," wrote one buyer, and I totally agree.

The stretchy smocked bodice on this midi dress from Madewell will ensure you never feel constricted in it, even after you've made it through every course of your Thanksgiving meal. The floaty flutter sleeves are both cute and breezy, and there's a full lining so you don't have to worry about layering anything underneath. If I were you, I'd follow the lead of the hundreds of other shoppers who have added this dress to their carts this week so you can be sure to get it in time for Turkey Day.

There's practically nothing comfier than a good sweater dress, and this 100 percent cashmere one from Everlane is sure to feel as warm and cozy as you'd hope. It's designed with a relaxed fit that should look flattering, but not feel too tight, and you can easily wear it a ton of different ways, from dressed down with sneakers and a denim jacket, to dressed up with heeled boots and sparkly jewelry. Bonus points for the vertical ribbing, which is a great choice for petites, especially, as it can help you look taller.

Hill House's nap dresses have become a cult favorite because as cute as they are, they're also meant to be comfortable enough to, well, nap in—so of course this would be one of my top choices for a Thanksgiving look. Personally, I'm obsessed with this dark tartan print that I could see myself wearing from now until spring, but there are *17* patterns to choose from in this classic style, including gingham, florals and more, so you're sure to find one you love.

I can't say enough good things about Buck Mason—an L.A.-based brand known for its high-quality staple pieces that you can style a million different ways. This dress is no exception, since I know the stretchy cotton fabric will feel breathable and soft against my skin. And, again, it's one of those pieces that you can dress up or down just by swapping out a few accessories, so you can wear it well past the holidays, too.

If I'm being honest, I'm such a sucker for a cute cape style. They feel so fun and whimsical, so I was so excited to see them rising in popularity again this season. And if you love the look as much as I do, you're going to want to get your hands on this mini from Marie Oliver that's crafted from 100 percent silk and boasts an elastic waistband at the front that keeps the fit flattering, but stretchy. It's also fully lined and comes in sizes XXS through XL, but to no one's surprise, it's selling fast, so I suggest picking it up sooner rather than later.

I picked up this dress a few weeks ago because I was desperately in need of some casual options for the fall season, and I can confirm it's definitely comfy thanks to its flowy fit. It's also made of a lightweight cotton fabric that feels airy and breathable, but if you want a little more warmth, I think it would look fab with a tight-fitting turtleneck underneath or an oversized cardigan over top.

Trovata makes *such* high-quality designs, so if you're looking for a Thanksgiving dress to wear well after the big day (and maybe even again next year), I'd definitely suggest checking out some of its designs. I personally adore this frock that has a dark floral print that feels like it could work in any season, and is bound to be comfortable thanks to its elastic waist and 100 percent soft cotton fabric, which was specifically constructed to have a "lived-in" feel.

Corduroy is everywhere this season, and I love it on this easy-fitting popover shirtdress. It's such a classic, versatile design that you could totally wear for holiday events, work *and* weekend knockarounds, and it comes in a wide size range including standard, petite and plus sizes, so it should be easy to find your perfect fit. Reviewers call out that it drapes nicely, and as one shared, "The fabric is soft and good quality. The fit is nice and will look great with my high boots or low boots." Oh, and did I mention it's half off right now?
