‘Virgin River’ Actor Ben Hollingsworth Stars in a Brand-New TV Series Billed as ‘Yellowstone’ Meets ‘Fargo’

Virgin River fans have now got another show they need to keep on their radar.

Benjamin Hollingsworth, who plays Marine veteran Dan Brady on our favorite romantic drama, is also starring in a new series from Spectrum Originals. Titled Joe Pickett, the show sees “a game warden and his family navigating the changing political and socio-economic climate of rural Wyoming, a place rife with wildlife, history, schemes and secrets.”

Joe Pickett, which premiered earlier this month, was first teased by Hollingsworth on his Instagram account, where he talked about the character he portrays, saying, “Can’t wait for y’all to meet Ote Keeley. #JoePicket drops on @spectrumoriginals in 2 days!!! The best way to describe this show is Yellowstone meets Fargo.”

When the show officially premiered on December 6, Hollingsworth teased it even further by posting a scene where he's the main focus. In the caption, he said, “#JoePickett is out today!!! Stream now on @spectrumoriginals if you’re in the US. If not it will be worth the wait. Here is a little taste. Enjoy!”

If there's one thing we can't get over, it's how different the 37-year-old actor looks in this clip. While Hollingsworth typically sports a short haircut and tightly trimmed beard on Virgin River, his character on Joe Pickett is seen rocking more of a Lincoln-length beard, while speaking in a very heavy drawl.

Many of Hollingsworth's fellow Virgin River co-stars showed their excitement in the comments, like Colin Lawrence, who wrote a series of clapping hand emojis. Marco Grazzini, who plays Mike Valenzuela, also commented on the post, saying, “Coooooolllllll.”

Nothing will make us stream a show faster than seeing it includes a member of the Virgin River cast.
