Netflix Drops Intense New Trailer for Creepy-Cool Turkish Drama Series ‘Fatma’

If you're on the hunt for a unique program to add to your queue, then boy, does Netflix have a horror-drama series for you. And the streaming platform just released the first trailer. Fair warning: It looks seriously intense.

Called Fatma, the Turkish series follows an ordinary cleaning lady who commits an unexpected murder while on a quest for her missing ex-husband, Zafer. However, it's not long before she finds herself entangled in a web of killings as she struggles to survive and stop her repressed emotions from getting the best of her.

Watch the full trailer below.

Netflix’s official synopsis reads, “Reeling from tragedy, a nondescript house cleaner embarks on a murderous streak as she searches for her missing husband and reckons with old wounds.” Per Variety, Fatma has been described by Netflix director of original content for Turkey, Pelin Distas, as “a punch in your stomach” and an allegory about “how you deal with life as a woman in Turkey.” Oh, and if you don’t speak Turkish, you may need to put the subtitles on.

Written and directed by up-and-coming writer Ozgur Onurme and produced by Basak Abacigil Sozeri, the series stars Burcu Biricik, Ugur Yucel, Mehmet Yilmaz Ak, Hazal Turesan, Olgun Toker, Gulcin Kultur Sahin, Deniz Hamzaoglu and Cagdas Onur Ozturk.

Unfortunately, Fatma will not be released on the streaming platform until April, 27. So, mark your calendars.
