While there’s nothing wrong with a good vineyard tour, spa day or even penis straw, perhaps you’re hoping for something a bit more outside the box for your (or your best friend’s) bachelorette party. I’ve scoured TikTok and done some light Instagram stalking to bring you this list of five bachelorette party trends to consider for your pre-wedding celebration, from a bachelorette half marathon (kudos if this is up your alley) to an at-home hibachi night.

40 Fun Bachelorette Party Ideas

1. Bride-to-Be Runs

OK, so this one isn’t for the faint of heart (or out of shape—guilty), but I’ve seen more and more bachelorette party TikToks, like the one above, in which the group—led by an athletic bride-to-be—goes on a run as part of the festivities. The distance is up to you—I don’t even know how I’d react to my bestie informing of a bachelorette half marathon—but it’s a fun idea if you and your pals could talk for hours about Hoka vs. Asics or Strava vs. Nike Run Club. And just think of how sweet the post-run mimosas and bagels will taste…

2. At-Home Hibachi

When it came to planning a bachelorette party in Miami a couple years ago, at-home hibachi was a nonnegotiable for my co-maid-of-honor and I—and it was a highlight of the weekend. While it’s not groundbreaking to have a chef come to the house where you’re staying for your bachelorette party, hibachi is such a fun, interactive twist on the trope. You can find companies all over the country that offer in-home hibachi, and the whole affair couldn’t be easier: A chef arrives with all of the food and cooking tools (grill included) and mimics the experience of being at, say, a Benihana. There are onion volcanos, water guns filled with sake and countless shrimp being catapulted into the mouths of your nearest and dearest.

3. Nude Drawing Parties

Do you love the idea of spending some of your bachelorette party swooning over barely clothed men but are looking for something a bit more, shall we say, elevated? Meet The Artful Bachelorette, a company that hosts drink-and-draw parties—either in your own space or at a partner location—that feature nude models. There are various packages offered (I’m so sorry), but all include a model and instructor, all art supplies and a complimentary glass of bubbles. One happy customer writes, “Just had my bachelorette party in Palm Springs and surprised my girls with The Artful Bachelorette, and I'm so glad I did! They are professional, fun and so unique! I loved how seamless and smoothly it all went, I honestly loved the instructor and model so much and they felt like they were having fun too! It was definitely the highlight of the weekend and I could not recommend them enough! They're great!”

4. One-Night-Only Soirees

Anyone who’s been to a bachelorette party over the past few years, knows that these things can get expensive…fast. In an effort to cut costs, I’ve seen many brides opt for single-night celebrations in their cities or towns. Yes, this can be tricky if your friend group is spread across the globe, but if the majority of your crew lives in and around the same area, an evening on the town—maybe drinks followed by a nice dinner and not-too-crazy club—can be a great alternative to buying flights, Airbnbs, etc. (Note: I know this is how most bachelorette parties used to be—aka, this isn’t a groundbreaking suggestion—but these days you’re often looking at $1,000+ weekend in Nashville, Vegas or even Tulum.)

5. Joint Bachelor/Bachelorette Parties

You and your fiancé are friends with each other’s friends, so why not combine your groups into one co-ed event? Joint bachelorette/bachelor parties have been a rising trend over the past few years, and I’ve spoken to folks who say it’s a fun twist on the typical pre-wedding weekend. Even if your respective groups aren’t all that close yet, it’s a great way to introduce your circles before the big day. Of course you can still have separate activities throughout the weekend (who wants to spend all day Saturday on a golf course? Not I.), but joint dinners or beach days are a terrific option.
