Nothing—and I mean nothing—beats a good cottage. Especially a waterfront property. That being said, I'm hardly surprised that cottages have become the unexpected breakout stars on TV. Just think about the frenzy that engulfed the Heated Rivalry cottage after Shane and Iliya's hideaway was listed on Airbnb. And now, for fans of Amazon Prime's Sterling Point, the cottage at the center of the drama is on Airbnb, too.

ICYMI, Sterling Point is the summer series that dropped on Prime Video in early August. The plot follows Annie Jacobson, who, along with her twin brother, Connor, inherits their grandfather's island in Canada. After arriving, Annie meets Ramona, a local girl who has also been named an heir to the estate. Drama ensues as Annie begins to uncover her mother's untold past, and a lot of it takes place in a quaint cottage overlooking the water.
That cottage is actually Gordon Bay Cottage in Muskoka Lakes. It originally opened in 1902 as a summer hotel. Now, beginning September 15, guests can request to book one of three stays taking place October 2-5, 9-12 and 16-19 at the rate of $131/night ($180 CAD).
The home is shaded by towering pine trees, with views of the lake peeking into almost every room. Charmingly, the cottage retains its original windows and screened porch, which is my favorite part of the house. There's nothing an afternoon on the porch with a glass of something and a book can't fix. It's a great spot for group dinners and chats late into the night, with nary a neighbor in sight. And when the nighttime chill sets in, everyone can gather around the living room fireplace.
It's also the ultimate destination for outdoor lovers, with wildlife abound and direct access to a private dock. From there, you can dive into the lake for a swim or launch a paddle board, canoe or kayak. Given the remote location, this is also the place for stargazing. For those who aren't as inclined for the outdoors, you'll be a short drive from Port Carling, the nearby town brimming with local restaurants, coffee shops and a view of the lake. Sounds like the nature escape we all need—minus the earth-shattering family secrets.
