Dear 2018: While we’re (sorta) sad to see you go, we love to watch you leave. It’s time for us to go our separate ways, meet new people and fall even deeper in love (with Kit Harington, of course). Here, nine things we’re so excited for in 2019.
9 Things We’re Looking Forward to in 2019
‘game Of Thrones’
Hold onto your dragonglass: The end is coming for HBO’s fantasy saga, with the last and eighth season premiering in April. So give your GoT-obsessed friend a hug. They’re going to need it to get through what is poised to be the most epic finale in TV history.
Disney Live-action Remakes And Sequels
Aladdin. Dumbo. The Lion King. Toy Story 4. Frozen 2. Star Wars: Episode IX. Need we say more?
The Royal Baby
Baby Sussex is due to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in April, and we can expect more fabulous maternity outfits and royal engagements in the meantime. (And possibly a U.S. royal tour? Hey, a girl can dream.)
‘stranger Things’
We’re headed back to Hawkins for the third season of Netflix’s 1980s sci-fi saga in summer, and we’re *Upside Down* with excitement.
A ‘star Wars' Theme Park
Galaxy’s Edge, the new Star Wars theme park land coming to Disneyland and Disney World, will arrive in summer for California and late fall for Florida, which doesn’t sound too far, far away (now that it’s 2019).
Women’s World Cup
¡Golllll! Get ready, futbol fans. The women’s FIFA world cup begins in June in France, and USA’s women’s team is back as returning champ. U-S-A! U-S-A!
Two Solar Eclipses
A *double eclipse* is coming this year, once in South America in July and once in South Asia in December. Flights: booked.
'cat Person' Author's First Book
A collection of (make-your-skin-crawl) short stories by Kristen Roupenian, who wrote The New Yorker's mega-viral "Cat Person" from December 2017, will be out in January. The collection, titled You Know You Want This, plus an upcoming novel, HBO miniseries and A24 movie deal for Roupenian, means we won't see the last of her (and her uncomfortably real tales) anytime soon.
Spice Girls Reunion Tour
I’ll tell ya what I want, what I really, really want: Tickets to the Spice Girls reunion tour (sans Posh Spice), that starts in the U.K. in June.
