Zoë Kravitz throwing shade at the number of see-through shirts her dad, Lenny Kravitz, wears is one of our favorite celeb moments of the week.
On March 12, The Batman actress attended her dad’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in Los Angeles, California. During the event, Zoë stepped up to the podium to give a special speech dedicated to her dad, Lenny, and the High Fidelity alum took the opportunity to highlight his many attributes, including his rocker fashion sense.
Zoë, 35, playfully roasted her father’s love for sheer tops and sporting a shirtless look. While reading her speech from a piece of paper, she said, “I’ve seen you change in the most beautiful ways, I’ve seen the ways you’ve stayed the same in the most important ways. I’ve seen the way you show up and take care of the people you love. I’ve seen your incredible dedication to your art—but mostly, I’ve seen through your shirts.”
In response, Lenny, 59, couldn’t hold in his laughter. She continued, “According to my dad, if it doesn’t expose your nipples, it’s not a shirt. And, sure, it used to embarrass me when you’d pick me up from school as a kid. But I’ve gotta say, at this point, I respect it. You really do pull it off.” And if that weren't enough, Zoë drove the point home with the most *savage* burn: “Your relationship with the netted shirt is probably your longest one.”
With all jokes aside, Zoë went on to say how Lenny’s fashion choices are nothing short of iconic. “And it works,” the actress added. (FYI, Lenny was also wearing a satin shirt to the star ceremony. Clearly, the rock star loves a statement piece.)
She also applauded her father for being an inspiration to her and others. “You absolutely devour life. You eat up every crumb and lick the plate,” Zoë explained. “Life is your art, and that is why your music is so inspiring and important. You make people feel alive. You remind people of the only thing that matters: love.”
Other stars in attendance also included Zoë’s boyfriend, Channing Tatum, and Lenny’s longtime friend, Denzel Washington.
