How fitting

Zendaya is taking a literal approach to the Challengers press tour, and I’m all for it.

This week, the 27-year-old actress stepped out in a tennis-inspired outfit for the Challengers photocall in Rome. Zendaya wore a silver dress, which featured a plunging neckline and pleated skirt. But it was her literal tennis shoes that stole the show.

I’m not talking about an ordinary pair of sneakers—I’m referring to her white pumps that featured a miniature tennis ball on the heel. The sports reference was hard to miss, since it was the only colorful aspect of her outfit.

In Challengers, Zendaya portrays a tennis player who becomes a coach after suffering a career-ending injury. She stars alongside Josh O’Connor (The Crown) and Mike Faist (West Side Story) as they compete to become grand slam champions, all while navigating their shady love triangle.

This isn’t the first time Zendaya’s fashion was inspired by the film she was promoting. Back in February, the Euphoria star attended the London premiere of the highly anticipated sequel, Dune: Part Two, and wore a silver robotic outfit that resembled armor with cutouts.

The catsuit featured metallic armor that spanned from her neck to her toes, including cut-outs on her thighs, stomach, arms and chest that created dimension and drew attention away from the metal design.

Per Buzzfeed, the outfit was reportedly taken from Thierry Mugler's 20th anniversary fall/winter runway fashion show from 1995. According to The New York Times, the “fembot” design took six months to complete, and it featured a full-body catsuit made from metal and plexiglass.

Keep up the great work, Zendaya.
