Tracee Ellis Ross Shares Fun Behind-the-Scenes Video of the ‘Black-ish’ Cast

Quarantine has left many of our favorite shows on hiatus, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy some fun throwbacks in the meantime.

Tracee Ellis Ross shared a behind-the-scenes video of the Black-ish cast and it’s hard not to smile while watching them goof around. She posted the vid on her Instagram in honor of Juneteenth.

She captioned the post, “BLACK JOY AT WORK #blackish #juneteenth.” In the clip, her TV family dances in the background while she tries to get her makeup done. From the looks of it, they are having quite a good time (who can resist dancing to “Can’t Touch This” by MC Hammer?) and there’s no doubt that they all clearly like making each other laugh.

“Good morning from Black-ish,” the actress says to the camera. She shared a couple of other posts as well in honor of the historic day, including footage from the show’s Juneteenth episode. In 2017, the ABC sitcom aired an episode titled “Juneteenth” to teach their viewers about the day all slaves were finally free.

“I’m not going to lie, it was a little anxiety-provoking. To think that we were going to shift gears. I think we do it so often on Black-ish in such a good way but this is something we haven’t done. It was an element of ‘Is this going to trivialize something that is as important as it is? Are we going to be able to do this at the level that would give it the honor it deserves?’ I didn't know if we could,” she said in a Black-ish Zoom call with the cast and writer Peter Saji in celebration of the episode’s three-year anniversary. “We were trying something and like you said it’s a daunting task to put that all into a 22-minute episode. We do it successfully, that’s a part of the DNA of Black-ish.”

While we wait for the show to come back, we’ll just be watching this BTS video a few more times...
