Wait, Did Sterling K. Brown Just Give Us a Clue About Randall & Beth’s Fate?

If you’re still fretting over the This Is Us season three, episode 17 promo (same), then some relief might just be around the corner.

In anticipation of tonight’s episode, Sterling K. Brown (Randall) offered up his two cents about Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) and Randall’s relationship in a cryptic Instagram post.

The 42-year-old Emmy winner shared the promo for the upcoming episode, which depicts the blow-up fight Randall and Beth have been working toward throughout the season. Beth says, “We have been having the same fight since we met,” and Randall replies that he wants her to have her own life. But we all know there are some conditions attached to that statement. (Anyone remember when he asked her to give up her career after seeing how much joy it brought her? Yeah.)

The promo is interspersed with flashbacks to their wedding and the vows they made to one another. This could mean one of two things—either we’re revisiting their wedding because their marriage is on the brink of divorce or this fight will ultimately bring them closer.

Thankfully, Brown hinted at the latter in his caption, writing, “Instead of choosing team Randall or team Beth, let’s choose team Randall AND Beth. Team R&B. Let’s choose love. #ThisIsUs.”

The cast hinted that a wedding would take place this season, so perhaps a Randall and Beth vow renewal is in the cards? Series creator Dan Fogelman did reveal at PaleyFest over the weekend that the season finale will focus on the couple. And TBH, that seems like a more fitting explanation than Kevin (Justin Hartley) and Zoe (Melanie Liburd) tying the knot given the fact that Sophie (Alexandra Breckenridge) just came back into the picture.

This Is Us returns with the season three penultimate episode tonight at 9 p.m. PT/ET on NBC. Fingers crossed we find out what the future holds for Beth and Randall, although something tells us they’re gonna be all right.
