*Warning: Spoilers ahead*
Last week on The Masked Singer, we bid farewell to another beloved contestant and found out which three were headed to this week’s finals. But on the finale, Crocodile, Mushroom and Sun competed for one last time before one was crowned the winner.
Crocodile kicked things off with his rendition of "Open Arms" by Journey. In his final clue package, he revealed, “Growing up, my family was dirt poor, so I mowed lawn after lawn just to afford my first album, Frontiers by Journey.” Next, Mushroom took the stage and performed his version of Stevie Wonder's “I Wish.” For his clue package, Mushroom opened up about the inspo behind his mushroom costume: his daughter. “I channeled her mannerisms, her voice, her love of dressing up every time I step out on this stage and she doesn't even know I'm doing this,” he said before his final performance. Last (but certainly not least), Sun shut things down with an impressive rendition of Brandi Carlile's' "The Story." She dedicated her performance to “the person who has loved me through some of my toughest times.”
After the audience and panelists voted, sadly, Crocodile was sent packing and revealed himself to be Backstreet Boy (yup, another one) Nick Carter. But that wasn’t all. Host Nick Cannon went on to announce this season’s runner up—Mushroom, who revealed himself to be singer Aloe Blacc. This means that Sun is the official winner of The Masked Singer season four. Drumroll, please! Sun is...LeAnn Rimes. The singer and Grammy-winning songwriter was the second woman to win the competition and also proved our episode one theory correct.
