‘The Masked Singer’ Fans Already Think They Know Who the Sun Is After Premiere Episode

*Warning spoilers ahead*

We’re only one episode into the latest season of The Masked Singer, but fans are already convinced they know the identity of a few of the contestants. Season four kicked off last night and, as per usual, it didn’t disappoint. The whole gang was back together including host Nick Cannon and panel judges Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger.

And while not all of this season’s contestants performed on the premiere episode we got our initialt glimpse at the first five. Sun started off the show with Lizzo's "Cuz I Love You," followed by Giraffe who impressed judges with "Let's Get It Started" by the Black Eyed Peas. Next up was Popcorn who sang "What About Us" by Pink and Dragon with "Mama Said Knock You Out" by LL Cool J. Finally, Snow Owls (yes, there’s two) closed things out with a duet of "Say Something," by A Great Big World.

Unfortunately, Dragon was eliminated and revealed himself to be rapper Busta Rhymes.

And while fans were obviously happy for the hit show’s return, it wasn’t long before they started revealing their theories on who is under some of the masks—specifically, Sun. The internet is currently speculating that the character is non-other than country singer LeAnn Rimes.

According to Good Housekeeping, online sleuths have found an old video of Rimes performing the exact same song back in 2019 and we’re not going to lie, it sounds eerily similar to last night’s performance.

Her first hint was that she "knows how to shine like a torch even during the freezing winter." And while this originally made us think there was a possible Olympian under that giant head (Lindsey Vonn is also a name being thrown around), viewers pointed out that Rimes sang at the opening ceremony of the 2002 Winter Olympics. Another clue the Sun gave us was that she "has set quite a few records." Which makes sense, for a Grammy-winning artist.

So, while it’s still too early to tell, we think there’s already a pretty strong case for Rimes.
