‘The Crown' Producers Just Announced a New Netflix Show, but It's Much, Much Darker

We have royally exciting news, Netflix subscribers.

The masterminds behind the The Crown are teaming up with the streaming service again (bless!), but, sadly, it won’t be a Meghan Markle–inspired show. The new project is based on the bestselling novel Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough, according to Variety

The psychological thriller is about a single mom named Louise. While working a part-time job in a psychiatrist’s office, she has an affair with her boss and begins an unlikely friendship with his wife…until the dark web of lies and secrets becomes too much. (Oooh, this is juicy.

Behind Her Eyes will air as a six-part limited series and shoot in the U.K. later this year.

Executive producers Suzanne Mackie, Andy Harries and Jessica Burdett from Left Bank (the same production company behind The Crown) plus Eliza Mellor from Poldark will produce, while Steve Lightfoot (The Punisher) and Angela LaManna (Hannibal) will pen the script.

Netflix + Poldark + The Crown + dark, creepy plot = Binge-worthy gold. (And can we please add Claire Foy and Matt Smith back into the mix? Is that really so much to ask?)
