The Cast of ‘The Crown’ Dancing to Lizzo’s ‘Good As Hell’ Is a Must-Watch

We woke up this morning to some very interesting and unexpected news. It appears a video featuring the cast of The Crown dancing to a very famous Lizzo song has emerged online. And, as it turns out, the clip was never supposed to “see the light of day.”

During a recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Gillian Anderson, who played British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher on the drama series, revealed details of the behind-the-scenes video. Turns out, the choreographed routine to Lizzo’s “Good as Hell” was a request from fellow actress Olivia Colman (aka Queen Elizabeth).

“Olivia apparently does a dance class in the area that she lives with a bunch of friends on a regular basis, and the last time she did the class, they had danced to that Lizzo song,” Anderson told Meyers. “She asked if we would happen to be interested in maybe doing it, and she would video it. And then she would just share it only with the other dancers and so, it was never meant to see the light of day.”

Obviously, things didn’t go according to plan, because the late-night television show broadcast the clip to the world on live TV. In the short footage, we see Colman and Anderson front and center, with fellow co-stars Helena Bonham Carter (Princess Margaret), Josh O'Connor (Prince Charles), Erin Doherty (Princess Anne), Marion Bailey (The Queen Mother) and Tobias Menzies (Prince Philip) following along in the background.

While the routine was brief, we have to say it was pretty impressive. We’re also starting to think that season five (or six) should include a dance number. And hopefully, Emma Corrin will join in.
