Simone Biles Proves She Was Ahead of the Barbiecore Curve With This Sweet Throwback to Her Wedding Weekend

Simone Biles has always been ahead of the curve (just look at the countless records she's set in the world of gymnastics). So it comes as no surprise that the 26-year-old athlete hopped on the Barbiecore trend months before the highly-anticipated Barbie film hit theaters. Turns out, she had her bridesmaids dress in pink outfits that would've looked right at home in any Barbie Dreamhouse, and she gave a glimpse of these rosy outfits in a new video on Instagram.

The four-time Olympic gold medalist shared a behind-the-scenes clip to her account, which featured her and her bridesmaids getting ready on the day of her big wedding. (FYI: Biles and her husband, Jonathan Owens, 27, actually tied the knot in a private ceremony on April 22 before their formal affair with their families and friends on May 6.)

Clearly, Biles thought this would be the perfect time to post the video, because her caption read, “Barbie and her Bratz.”

The clip sees the Ohio native hanging out with her friends, who are all outfitted in blush pink satin pajama sets (Biles wearing white, of course). The video ends with the bride wearing her gorgeous Galia Lahav wedding dress, while her bridesmaids sport their formal gowns, also in pink.

The newlyweds had their larger ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. When asked by a fan why the couple chose to get married twice, Biles wrote, “We had to get married ‘legally’ here in the U.S.—since our wedding will be a destination wedding.”

Now, although a couple months have gone by, it's clear the World Champion isn't done sharing photos from her nuptials quite yet (and we don't blame her).

With her love of pink, we hope Simone found some time to flip into the movie theater to see Barbie this weekend.
