Noah Reid channeled his inner Moira Rose in order to honor Catherine O'Hara.
Last month, the official IG account of Schitt's Creek shared side-by-side images of Reid, who portrayed Patrick on the series, sporting a variety of Moira-inspired wigs (we’re talking blue, black with red and even curly blonde) alongside shots of the matriarch of the show. “Noah Reid’s gift to Catherine O’Hara is a gift to us all,” the post’s caption read. The images are from Reid’s performance of Joni Mitchell’s “A Case Of You,” which he filmed in Toronto, Ontario. The special video rendition was created as a tribute to O’Hara who was presented with Canada’s Lifetime Achievement Governor General’s Performing Arts Award. This prize is meant to recognize performers for their “outstanding lifetime contribution to Canada’s cultural life.” At the ceremony, O'Hara was recognized alongside other major celebs, like Ryan Reynolds.
In addition to the slideshow, the full video was shared by the National Arts Centre in Canada.
The recognition was also celebrated by fellow co-star, Dan Levy, who reposted the clip and wrote, “Catherine received the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award tonight. And this is how @olreid chose to honor that. Will never be able to watch this enough. Congratulations, dear Catherine!”
We didn’t think it was possible for anyone to rock these wigs quite like O’Hara. But Reid is a close second.
