Just a couple weeks ago, Ryan Reynolds's superhero flick The Green Lantern entered the list of most-watched movies on Netflix and stayed there for a whole week. Now, it appears that fans of Reynolds must be feeling even more nostalgic because another one of his past movies has climbed its way into the list as well.
The 2012 thriller Safe House—which stars Reynolds as a junior CIA officer—is currently sitting at the number-one spot in the streaming site's top movies list. Meanwhile, on Netflix's collective ranking of all their titles, Safe House is seated at number two, right behind the new season of Sex Education.
Reynolds stars in the movie alongside Academy Award-winning actor Denzel Washington, who plays a former CIA operative that is wanted for betraying the intelligence agency. Check out the two leading men in the trailer below.
“He was one of the most brilliant CIA operatives we ever had” one person says of Washington's character, Tobin, in the clip. “Until he went rogue.” Meanwhile, Reynolds plays Matt, a junior officer who is trying to get his big break and move up in the agency. Little does he know that when his world collides with Tobin's, he is going to get the action he's been searching for...even if he's unprepared for the consequences.
In addition to Reynolds and Washington, Safe House stars Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air), Brendan Gleeson (Braveheart), Sam Shepard (The Right Stuff), Rubén Blades (Fear the Walking Dead), Robert Patrick (Walk the Line) and Liam Cunningham (Game of Thrones).
Looks like we're gonna have to throw a Ryan Reynolds movie marathon this weekend.
