Sarah Ferguson Reached Out to Producers of ‘The Crown’ Demanding They ‘Help Her Character’

We aren’t the only ones who noticed Sarah Ferguson’s absence in The Crown. Turns out, Fergie herself has been wondering why her character has barely made an appearance on the popular drama. And she even tried to do something about it.

During a recent interview with Town & Country, the 61-year-old royal revealed that while she loves the Netflix show, she keeps asking herself, “Hello? Where is Fergie?” In fact, the Duchess of York even wrote to executive producer, Andy Harries, and offered her input. She told the outlet, “I said to him, ‘Why can’t I help my character?’” Unfortunately, her messages went unanswered.

However, that didn’t stop her from watching The Crown. “The music is wonderful, the story is beautiful," she told the Daily Mail. “You feel very proud to watch it. I can't speak for everyone, but that's how I felt when I watched it." Not quite the reaction we’ve seen from other royals, but we’re here for it.

It’s important to note that Ferguson hasn’t been completely MIA from the show, considering viewers received a brief glimpse of her wedding to Prince Andrew in 1986. The nuptials were showcased in season four, with Tom Byrne portraying Andrew and Jessica Aquilina playing Ferguson.

“I thought it was filmed beautifully. The cinematography was excellent,” Ferguson previously told Us Weekly of the series.“I loved the way they put my wedding in as well.”

Who knows, maybe we’ll see more of Fergie in season five of The Crown.
