Ryan Seacrest Fell Out of a Chair on Live TV & It’s Our Fave Video of 2020 So Far

Ryan Seacrest is no stranger to embarrassing snafus—like that time he was denied entry to Jennifer Lopez’s 50th birthday and the Oscars, or when he accidentally wore his girlfriend’s shirt…or when he revealed the American Idol finale results early. Come to think of it, he’s kind of accident-prone. But that didn’t make his latest bungle any less amazing.

It all started when the 45-year-old host arrived at work for yesterday’s episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan. Everything was going fine—until he fell off his chair backward and hit the floor (literally).

The fall transpired while Seacrest, bless his heart, was trying to catch a gold balloon. When it started going behind him, he leaned back a little too far and boom. Lucky for us, the entire thing was captured on video since he was, of course, on live TV.

As you’ll notice above, his Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host, Kelly Ripa, quickly yelled, “Oh, my God!” and the audience gasped. She then got up to help Seacrest to his feet and make sure he wasn’t injured (and hadn’t died of embarrassment). Since Seacrest was laughing from his place on the floor, it was clear he was alive and well. So, Ripa said, “Oh, my gosh, he’s fine.”

Afterward, Seacrest grabbed the balloon and joked, “I got it.” Naturally, he shared the video of his epic fall on Instagram later, writing, “First fumble of the new season. Hope I make the playoffs…”

Unfortunately, Ryan, we’re thinking that’s going to be a no. Regardless, please never change.
