There’s a Hidden Meaning Behind Queen Elizabeth’s New Twitter Photo

Queen Elizabeth just posted a subtle tribute on social media…and we almost missed it.

Shortly after the Platinum Jubilee celebrations came to an end, the 96-year-old monarch (or, ya know, her team) updated the royal family’s official Twitter page with a brand-new header photo.

While it used to feature a parade pic, it now shows a family portrait that was taken during the Platinum Jubilee Pageant.

As Hello! magazine points out, there’s a hidden meaning behind the queen’s decision to use this particular photo. The snap represents the future of the monarchy because it includes three generations of future monarchs (in addition to herself).

This includes Prince Charles and Prince William—along with their future queen consorts Camilla Parker Bowles and Kate Middleton—and Prince George. Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis also made the cut.

The queen’s Platinum Jubilee marked the 70th anniversary of her accession to the British throne. Several members of the royal family attended the back-to-back events, including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle (who traveled across the pond). They even brought their 1-year-old daughter, Lilibet, who finally met her namesake, Queen Elizabeth.

Cheers to hidden meanings!
