You’ll Never Believe What the Queen Gave to Prince Harry’s Son Archie for Christmas

When it comes to gift-giving, Queen Elizabeth is a firm believer in practicality. So, it should come as no surprise that she once purchased a peculiar appliance for Prince Harry’s son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten Windsor (2).

Earlier this year, the Duke of Sussex, 37, appeared on an episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden, where he shared never-before-heard details about the toddler (who was 21 months at the time). While discussing last year’s Christmas gift, Prince Harry revealed that his grandmother gave Archie a waffle maker.

“My grandmother asked us what Archie wanted for Christmas, and Meg said a waffle maker,” he said, referring to his wife, Meghan Markle. “[The queen] sent us a waffle maker for Archie.”

Prince Harry confirmed that the queen’s holiday present has become part of his family’s morning routine, adding, “So, breakfast now, Meg makes up a beautiful organic mix in the waffle maker. Archie wakes up in the morning and goes ‘waffle.’”

While discussing his go-to waffle toppings, the Duke of Sussex admitted that he adds a little bit of everything. He continued, “Bit of yogurt, a bit of jam on top. I don’t know if that’s the right thing to do. Bit of berries, maybe honey.”

At the time, Prince Harry also shared details about Archie’s personality and first word. (Hint: It’s not “waffle.”) “My son is now just over a year and a half. He is hysterical. He’s got the most amazing personality. He’s already putting three or four words together, he’s already singing songs,” he said. When Corden asked about Archie’s first word, Harry proudly responded, “Crocodile. Three syllables.”
