That's a lot of dough

The Royal Ascot is in full swing, and you know what that means: a week of high-stakes horse racing and high-fashion royal sightings. Everyone from Zara Tindall to Prince William showed up looking sharp, and while Kate Middleton was originally expected to attend, she ended up pulling out at the last minute. Still, there was no shortage of style moments—and Queen Camilla may have had the most jaw-dropping accessory of the day.

Let’s talk about her brooch. It wasn’t just sparkling—it was blinding. Queen Camilla stepped out wearing a heart-shaped diamond brooch that reportedly carries an estimated value of $2.5 million. Yep, million.

The brooch features an 18.8-carat heart-shaped diamond set in platinum, and while it’s undeniably stunning, it’s not just about the bling. According to Maxwell Stone, a diamond expert from UK jeweler Steven Stone, the piece carries serious sentimental value.

“Queen Camilla’s choice to wear the diamond in a brooch setting at Royal Ascot was an incredibly sentimental one,” he explained. “Not only does it have a sweet connection to the late monarch, but it was also one of the diamonds incorporated into her crown for King Charles’ Coronation in May 2023.”

He added that the stone sat in the front cross pattée of her coronation crown and was last seen at a garden party earlier this year.

As for the rest of her look? Queen Camilla wore a rich emerald green ensemble with a perfectly coordinated wide-brim hat. She finished the outfit with her go-to Van Cleef & Arpels bracelets, leaning into the monochromatic trend that both Princess Catherine and Duchess Sophie have been loving lately.

Queen Camilla is serving timeless style with a side of major sparkle—and this brooch? It’s giving crown jewel energy.
