Zara Tindall Looks Chic in Blue (And Gen Z-ers Would Approve)

Slay, Zara

Zara Tindall has solidified her status as one of the best-dressed royals—and yes, I have the receipts.

Just a few days ago, while joining her husband for a special outing, the 44-year-old equestrian turned heads in a pastel yellow Leo Lin “Aurélie” Appliqué mini dress, which she paired with gold pumps (courtesy of designer Julia Mays). Also, in April, the royal wore a showstopping little black dress from ME+EM while attending the F1 Grand Prix. And just recently, I stumbled upon another fabulous look that any Gen Zer would approve of.

Earlier this month, while visiting the Badminton Estate in Gloucestershire for the MARS Badminton Horse Trials, Tindall stepped out in all-denim. She paired the Cobalt "Ottilie" Jacket from Fairfax & Favour with barrel-leg jeans from Citizens of Humanity, striking the perfect balance between sophisticated and casual.

The royal's chic ensemble instantly reminded me of Gen Z's favorite denim trend, which opts for straight-leg jeans rather than the millennial-approved skinny jeans, which used to be all the rage.

The flattering and timeless style has quickly become a closet staple, and it can take any fashion look to the next level, whether you're aiming for a relaxed, casual look or a chic, bold ensemble. But don't just take my word for it. PureWow's former Associate Fashion Commerce Editor, Stephanie Meraz, revealed that they're "comfy, supportive and can be quite cozy if you find the right style."

Also, celebrity fashion stylist and author Kim Appelt noted in an interview with The Globe and Mail that barrel pants with a high waist and tapered hem can "create a flattering hourglass effect while the relaxed fit through the thighs provides ease." She also explained that the design "sits comfortably between baggy and tailored, not as loose as wide-leg or boyfriend jeans, but far from slim-fitting."

I don't know about you, but now I'm feeling inspired to add a few pairs to my closet.
