The top featured pleats, ruffles and a bow tied around her neck, and it was created by David and Elizabeth Emanuel (who also designed her wedding gown). According to the press release, the blouse will likely be sold for around $80,000 to $100,000.

The Hollywood Legends Auction will take place from December 14 to December 17. If you can’t attend the in-person event in Beverly Hills, you can also participate via the official website

Per the website, the auction will feature “a collection of some of the most head turning and star making pieces of the greatest style icons of all time, created by some of the most acclaimed and revered designers in fashion and Hollywood history.”

Emanuel discussed the iconic blouse in an excerpt from her book, A Dress for Diana. The author explained that the piece was originally a gown, but due to a stain, it was transformed into a blouse.

“When [Princess Diana] saw our blouse on the rack she fell in love with it, asked who had made it and was directed to us,” Emanuel wrote.

Someone’s about to buy a piece of history.
