Will Princess Beatrice Change Her Royal Title After the Wedding?

Now that Princess Beatrice is engaged to her beau, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, there’s only one question on our mind: Will she change her royal title after the wedding?

If she’s anything like her sister, Princess Eugenie, the answer is yes. However, the choice is entirely up to Princess Beatrice, and we probably won’t know the 31-year-old royal’s decision until she ties the knot with Mozzi in 2020. Womp, womp.

You see, it all comes down to whether or not Princess Beatrice wants to include her soon-to-be husband in her royal title.

Currently, her official name is “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice Elizabeth Mary of York,” though it is often shortened to “Princess Beatrice of York.” If she chooses to change it after the wedding, her formal name could be styled as “Princess Beatrice, Mrs. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.”

Although she hasn’t addressed the matter, we wouldn’t be surprised if Princess Beatrice opts for a name change, since Princess Eugenie did the same thing when she married Jack Brooksbank in October 2018. The royal switched her name from “Princess Eugenie of York” to “Princess Eugenie, Mrs. Jack Brooksbank,” according to official documents obtained by Harper’s Bazaar.

Just last week, Princess Beatrice announced that she’s engaged to the real estate tycoon, 34. Mozzi popped the question in early September during a romantic vacation to Italy.

Guess we better start learning how to properly pronounce Mozzi’s full name.
