The royal family just shared rare childhood photos of Princess Anne, and she looks exactly like her mom, Queen Elizabeth.
In honor of Anne’s 70th birthday on August 15, the family posted a slideshow of photos on Instagram that were taken throughout the royal’s childhood. If you compare Princess Anne to pics of Queen Elizabeth at that same age, the resemblance is uncanny.
In the first photo, Princess Anne is smiling at the camera, sporting curly blonde hair and an adorable smile. The picture is followed by snaps of the royal posing with her mom and dad, Prince Philip, along with her older brother, Prince Andrew.

Everything from the curly hair to the sweet smile screams doppelgänger, and we can’t believe we didn’t see it sooner.

The royal family shared the pics in honor of Princess Anne’s upcoming birthday. Unfortunately, she is set to miss out on a special tradition. Westminster Abbey typically rings in (literally) birthdays of the royal family by chiming the church’s bells. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the ritual has been suspended. It was expected to resume in August, but as we continue to combat the virus, its return has been postponed (yet again).
