Prince Harry Responds to Old Rumors About Cameron Diaz: 'Pure Bollocks'

You may have come across a few reports claiming that Prince Harry once flirted with actress Cameron Diaz, but according to the 39-year-old royal, this couldn't be further from the truth.

In his memoir, Spare, Harry set the record straight and explained that this encounter—which was mentioned in multiple stories and unauthorized biographies—never happened. The prince wrote, "They dredged up every relationship I’d ever had, every girl I’d ever been seen with, put it all into a blender, hired ‘experts,’ a.k.a quacks, to try to make sense of it. Books about me dived into my love life, honed in on each romantic failure and near miss."

He added, "I seem to recall one detailing my flirtation with Cameron Diaz. ‘Harry just couldn’t see himself with her,’ the author reported."

Prince Harry wasted no time in shutting down that false rumor. He added in Spare, "Indeed I couldn’t, since we’d never met. I was never within fifty meters of Ms. Diaz, further proof that if you like reading pure bollocks, then royal biographies are just your thing."

While the royal was never in a relationship with the Charlie's Angels actress, he previously dated TV personality Caroline Flack and model Cressida Bonas before he married Meghan Markle, with whom he had two children, in 2018.

During their engagement interview with BBC, Prince Harry said, "The fact that I fell in love with Meghan so incredibly quickly was sort of confirmation to me that all the stars were aligned. Everything was just perfect. This beautiful woman just sort of literally tripped and fell into my life."

Meanwhile, Markle opened up about how much she enjoyed getting to know the royal. She said during the same BBC interview, "It was really refreshing because...I didn't know about him. Everything I learned about him, I learned through him. Anything I learned about him and his family was what he would share with me and vice versa. It was really an authentic and organic way to get to know each other."

Great to know that Prince Harry put that old dating rumor to rest.
