Singer Craig David Recalls His ‘Very Memorable’ Convo with Prince William Over His Blue Sequin Tracksuit

Remember when Craig David wore a blue sequin outfit to Queen Elizabeth’s Jubilee? Well, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s oldest son, Prince George, couldn’t take his eyes off the sparkly ensemble.

During an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, David discussed his experience performing at the star-studded event. After the concert, the singer revealed that he was approached by Prince William, who explained that Prince George was infatuated with the musician’s outfit.

“Prince William walks over. He comes over [and] says, ‘My son George was going crazy for the blue sequined outfit that you were wearing,’” David recalled (according to People magazine). “My mum was there. I said, ‘Lovely to meet you. Love that George loved the outfit.’”

David proceeded to introduce his mother to Prince William and, eventually, Princess Catherine. He confirmed that it was a “pinch me” situation: “That moment for me, as a son, probably the most incredible moment for me. Then Kate comes over. Very memorable moment.”

This past summer, David was one of many artists who performed at the Platinum Jubilee’s Party at the Palace. (Other performers included Adam Lambert, Duran Duran, Rod Stewart, Diana Ross and Ed Sheeran.) When he took the stage, the singer wore a bright blue track suit that was decked out in sequins.

It seems Prince George is taking after his mom with his passion for fashion.
