Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos are closing in on 30 years of marriage and share three kids, but before their picture-perfect life together, there was the moment Mark knew Kelly was the one. On this week’s episode of Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa, featuring guest Kristin Chenoweth, the Riverdale alum took a trip down memory lane, reminiscing about the exact moment he fell for his now-wife.

"I thought she was hilarious," Mark shared when asked about his first impression of Kelly. "She was very, very kind, very, very funny, [and] adorable."

But the defining moment? Chenoweth pressed further.

"I remember we were running lines in either my dressing room or hers, and she had on these great shoes—heels—with these tight, but not too tight, jeans that fit perfectly," he recalled. Kelly quickly chimed in, "It was the ’90s, they were not tight."

Mark continued, painting the scene. "I forget what top you had on, but you were holding a cup of coffee and smoking a cigarette like something straight out of a Parisian editorial. She smoked like someone who had lived in Paris all their life—like a total French vixen."

At the time, both were in other relationships, but Mark admitted he couldn’t help but notice Kelly’s striking features. "I was like, wow, she's got really beautiful eyes. Her cheekbones are very specific, her hair is amazing, but her eyes and lips… I was like, wow, she's got great lips."

Fast forward to 1996—during date night, Mark proposed marriage and the two quickly eloped in Las Vegas. A year later, they welcomed their first child, Michael, followed by daughter Lola in 2001 and son Joaquin in 2003.

A love story like this just proves, when you know, you know.
