‘Live with Kelly & Ryan’ Looks a Lot Different This Week—& Fans Are Thrilled

The king and queen of daytime TV have done it again. And by "it," we mean they totally switched things up on Live with Kelly and Ryan.

Earlier this month, Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest started to record their episodes remotely, due to the spike in COVID-19 cases. But as of yesterday, after a few weeks of filming from their homes, the pair are officially back to sharing a desk. On Instagram, the producers shared a fun behind-the-scenes clip and wrote, "We’re back in the studio!"

In the video, Deja Vu dances and sings, "We're back in the studio." Then, the announcer introduces Ripa and Seacrest as they make their grand entrance. Ripa stepped out in a chic, black-and-white polka-dot dress with pink shoes, while Seacrest donned a beige suit with a plaid shirt. (FYI, to get Ripa's look, you can head over to Karl Lagerfeld and get this Polka Dot Midi Dress for just $99.)

Not surprisingly, fans were thrilled to see the dynamic duo back together. "Finally! The show is much better in the studio," one follower commented. Another wrote, "So glad to see this. You kids are better together in the studio!!"

Thankfully, Ripa and Seacrest's time apart was only short-term, as opposed to their lengthy break during the height of the pandemic in 2020. When the duo finally returned, they followed CDC guidelines by sitting six feet apart. And after ten months of this setup, fans saw them share their tiny desk again in June 2021. As they got settled in, the American Idol star said, “Is this what we used to use? Wow, I totally forgot.”

Meanwhile, Ripa said, “This seems awfully close. I feel like this is a level of intimacy where we really should be wearing protection. This is unprecedented closeness.”

Here's hoping our favorite co-hosts are back in the studio for good.
