Move Over, Goat Yoga: You Can Now Stretch With a Pack of Lemurs

lemur yoga1

Hey, do you love stretching your body into unnatural positions while a four-legged creature crawls all over you?

In the grand tradition of goat yoga, bunny yoga and cat yoga, you can now take a lemur yoga class at a hotel in Keswick, England.

Nicknamed lemoga (a not-totally-necessary portmanteau, if you ask us), lemur yoga classes are among the unique offerings at the Armathwaite Hall Hotel and Spa

According to The Metro, the lemurs reside at the Lake District Wildlife Park, which just so happens to be right next to Armathwaite Hall. How's that for an easy commute?

Lemoga is part of the hotel’s ‘meet the wildlife’ wellness program. Also included? Walking with alpacas and meeting meerkats.

The Metro notes, "Lemurs are primates who are pretty friendly and outgoing so they are great to practice your downward facing dog with." Carolyn Graves, owner of Armathwaite Hall, told the paper, "As a wellness destination, we’re used to providing our guests with outdoor experiences which help relieve the symptoms of city living such as stress, sleep and pollution. Lemoga offers our guests the chance to feel at one with nature, at the same time joining in with the lemurs’ play time." Sure.

What ever happened to the "dog" part of downward dog just being a point of reference?
