Ah, Gaga. What would we do without you and your zany four-costume-change look at Monday’s Met Gala? We only dream of being so daring.
But good news for us bystanders: The same hat box that Gaga brought to the event (you know, the one she pulled in a trunk while wearing a bedazzled bra and pantie set, fishnet tights and platform boots) is available to purchase online.
The Brandon Maxwell design is, remarkably, still available through luxury retailer Moda Operandi (hat not included). Of course, it could be the $2,495 price tag that that’s holding potential buyers back. Or the fact that a clear acrylic hat box is a bit of a niche item. Or that we’ll probably never find an occasion to actually use it. But we digress.
The A Star Is Born actress stole the show when she arrived at Anna Wintour’s biggest night of the year, first appearing in a voluminous hot pink coat-slash-gown carried by a bunch of men in tuxedos. She quickly disrobed into an equally, um, large black gown, which then came off to reveal a figure-hugging pink number (complete with a massive cellphone, because why the heck not?). Her final look was the aforementioned lingerie and hat box. It was…a lot, but Anna seemed to approve.
