This British Royal Just Released Two Singles (Because 2020 Wasn’t Bonkers Enough Already)

Looks like the British royal family officially has a pop star in the mix. Lady Gabriella Windsor just released two songs, which she wrote and recorded herself, on a handful of streaming platforms, including Spotify and iTunes.

Yup, the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, Queen Elizabeth’s cousins, shared two songs titled “Out of Blue” and “Bam Bam” to help raise money for the musical nonprofit, Playing For Change Foundation

According to Hello, the songs were influenced by the Brazilian bossa nova genre. "I've always loved music, but never imagined I would become involved with it like this—releasing my own songs," the 39-year-old told the outlet. "It's a little daunting, but exciting too.”

And while “Bam Bam” is making its worldwide debut, this isn’t the first time “Out of Blue” has been heard by a few lucky individuals closest to the royal. In fact, Windsor performed the single for the first time during her wedding reception back in May 2019.

“Throughout the evening a few of us hopped up on stage to sing with the band,” Windsor told the publication. “It was late and I'm not sure I sounded my best but one of the singers added some backing, so I hope that made it better. It was a day of so many nerve-racking moments that I thought: ‘I might as well throw this in, too!’”

Of course, her hubby Thomas Kingston has been fully supportive of the freelance writer’s dreams of pursuing music.

“He's been wonderfully encouraging and gracious from the start,” Winsor continued. “What's more, he doesn't complain about me screeching when I'm experimenting with ideas in my study. Tom loves music, too. On one of our first dates, we went together to see the Playing for Change Band at Camden Roundhouse.”

Guess we have two more songs for our next party playlist.
