1. Has It Been Confirmed?

No, but there’s still hope. While Lionsgate hasn’t officially green-lit the Knives Out sequel, writer-director Rian Johnson is already working on a franchise storyline, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The filmmaker will then present his ideas to the studio, so fingers crossed.

2. Is There A Cast?

Not officially, but one big-name celeb is expected to return: Daniel Craig, who played Detective Benoit Blanc. Not only does the sequel plot apparently revolve around his character, but he also wants to reprise the role.

In an interview with THR, Johnson’s writing partner Ram Bergman confirmed that Craig is already on board for the sequel. “Daniel had so much fun doing it, and he wants to do more,” he said.

3. What's It About?

Johnson hasn’t released any details about the plot, though we do know it will focus on Detective Benoit Blanc as he takes on another case. The director also revealed that “sequel” is a loose term.

“The idea of doing more of these with Daniel as his character is not sequels,” Johnson said. “It’s just what Agatha Christie did. It’s just coming up with a whole new mystery, a whole new location, all new cast, whole new mechanics of the appeal of a mystery and everything.”

So, True Detective with a hint of James Bond? This is a twisted web, and we absolutely love it.
