Everyone’s Talking About Chris Evans’s ‘Knives Out’ Sweater. Here’s What You Need to Know
If you haven't seen it yet, Knives Out is a movie about a family gathering gone awry, after the family patriarch's death leads a master detective to investigate. If you have seen it, you've probably, like the rest of the world, spent at least a little time thinking about the infuriatingly perfect sweater worn by Chris Evans. You know the one: Cream, cable-knit, slightly bulky fit, crew neck? This one:
The fisherman sweater has become something of an internet phenomenon, with people lusting over both Evans and his knit. While he certainly looks great, we were more focused on where we could get our own version of his now-iconic look.
For the record, we'd wear ours half-tucked into a pair of high-waist jeans or a silk midi skirt, or loose over our coziest pair of leggings.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Knives Out costume designer Jenny Eagan talked about the inspiration behind the lusted-after piece. "He'd grown up privileged and used his money to buy fancy cars, to buy fancy clothes, but you could tell that he didn't necessarily appreciate those things," she said, adding that she liked the light shade not only because "it was a beautiful color with his eyes," but also because "wealthy people can always wear white—nothing ever gets dirty."
Unfortunately, she says she and Evans chose the sweater during a fitting that was so rushed, she can't remember the brand. Fortunately, there are a number of similar pieces available for purchase as we speak. Here are four of our favorites.
