Kieran Culkin’s speech at the 2025 Oscar Awards will go down in history as one of my all-time favorites. Even his wife, Jazz Charton, can’t deny his charm.
This week, Charton celebrated her husband’s first-ever Academy Award by sharing a slideshow of photos on Instagram. In the caption, the proud wife addressed their “baby pact” and jokingly revealed that it forced Culkin to work hard at his career.
“AN OSCAR?!!!! Okay okay hear me out—making empty baby pacts may seem foolish but it’s clearly been a great motivator,” she wrote. “Would he have come this far if I hadn’t kept promising him more kids if he won awards?….. Probably. But who’s to say?…”
Charton was referring to Culkin’s speech at the 2025 Oscar ceremony when he won the award for Best Supporting Actor for A Real Pain. While accepting the statuette, Culkin revealed that his wife promised to give him four children if he ever won an Oscar.
“She turned to me—I swear to God, this happened just over a year ago—she said, ‘I will give you four when you win an Oscar,’” he said. “And I have not brought it up once until just now.”
Culkin continued, “I just have this to say to you, Jazz—love of my life, ye of little faith—no pressure. I love you. I’m really sorry I did this again, and let’s get cracking on those kids. What do you say?”
