Listen Up, Swifties: Katy Perry's Newest Song 'Daisies' Might Just Be a Taylor Swift Collaboration

Hold on to your cherry-flavored chapstick: We're getting new Katy Perry music soon, and one of the singles just might be a highly-anticipated collaboration with ex-frenemy Taylor Swift.

On Thursday, Perry announced the first single from her upcoming studio album, #KP5, is called "Daisies" and will be released on May 15.

Demi Lovato wrote, "Cute!!!" on the announcement post. Perry's fiancé, Orlando Bloom, commented, "My favorite." (ICYMI, last month, the couple announced that they are expecting a baby girl.)

Taylor Swift fans now have plenty to speculate on, though, since Swift posted a photo of herself wearing a daisy-covered sweater less than two hours (er, exactly 85 minutes, as the Swifties noticed) after Perry's "Daisies" announcement.

The numbers 8 and 5 are significant, because 5/8 (May 8) is the day Swift posted the letter and olive branch wreath sent to her by the "Dark Horse" singer to her IG Stories back in 2018. The numbers also add up to Swift's favorite number, 13.

The post was also shared on May 7, 2020, almost exactly two years since Perry sent Swift the literal olive branch with a note, ending their longtime feud.

Fans will recall that it all started in 2014 when Swift told Rolling Stone that “Bad Blood” is written about a female artist who “tried to sabotage” her tour. After a series of subtle snubs on social media, Perry followed up with a diss track, “Swish Swish,” in 2017.

The American Idol Twitter page also got in on the Swifties' excitement by tweeting, "We can't wait to play this like 1,989 times in a row" about Perry's single, referencing Swift's fifth studio album, 1989.

Is this all speculation due to quarantine boredom, or are we finally getting the iconic collaboration that we've been dreaming of?

Maybe we just need to take the "You Need to Calm Down" singer's advice...
