Katie Holmes Put Her Own Spin on Meghan Markle’s Favorite Flats

The Markle effect knows no bounds. Even Katie Holmes thinks so.

That’s why, when the 40-year-old Dawson’s Creek alum attended the Rothy’s Celebrates Style Sustainability and the Merino Collection cocktail party at the Gramercy Park Hotel in New York last night, she made sure to wear Meghan Markle’s favorite style of the eco-conscious flat.

Holmes arrived at the intimate affair wearing a silk and lace appliqué slip dress with a beige colored blazer draped over her shoulders (which she removed inside), a tangle of necklaces, drop earrings, the Gabriela Hearst Demi bag ($1,795) and a not-yet-released beautiful aubergine shade of Rothy’s pointed toe flats.

She’s crushing cozy girl fall, right? Holmes specifically selected Rothy’s Merino collection for her night out, which is set to launch next Tuesday, October 8. The range is the brand’s first sustainable, high-quality wool and vegan leather offering.

Rothy’s grew to prominence last fall when Meghan Markle wore the flats constructed from recycled single-use water bottles while on her Oceania Tour with Prince Harry. Markle opted for the Black Solid Point ($145) while in Sydney. Since then, they’ve become a favorite of normal folks and celebs alike.

While attending the Rothy’s event, Holmes also enjoyed another connection to Markle. The actress posed with The Good Place star Jameela Jamil, who the Duchess of Sussex hand selected to be featured in the British Vogue Forces for Change September issue that she guest edited.
