Kate Middleton’s latest outfit was a subtle nod to the people of Ukraine.
Today, the Princess of Wales visited the Reading Ukrainian Community Centre, which provides families with resources (including housing, employment support and educational classes).
When she arrived, Princess Catherine wore a camel coat and a flattering polka dot dress by one of her favorite designers, L.K. Bennett. The dress itself was a subtle nod to Ukraine as it featured yellow dots set against a navy-blue background. (FYI, the country’s flag is blue and yellow.)
She completed the look with sophisticated accessories, including a black leather clutch, suede pumps and pearl-drop earrings.
While there, the Princess of Wales met with volunteers to learn more about how the organization has helped displaced families. She also heard firsthand accounts from people who’ve benefitted from the Reading Ukrainian Community Centre—like one woman who detailed her experience fleeing Ukraine.
After hearing her story, Princess Catherine comforted the woman. “It’s still all going on and you have loved ones and family in Ukraine they still see the horrors of war every day,” she said (according to Hello! magazine). “I am so impressed at your bravery and resilience I am overwhelmed by how strong you all are.”
