Kate Middleton Just Made a Special Visit to the Hospital Where She Was Born—and We Have Pics

Kate Middleton and Prince William took a special trip down memory lane this week.

The royal couple recently embarked on a little adventure by touring cities in the U.K. and honoring frontline workers battling the coronavirus pandemic. During their Royal Train Tour, they stopped to meet with nurses and midwives at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading, which also happens to be the place where the duchess was born in January of 1982.

On Instagram, Kensington Palace posted photos from their visit, revealing that the royal couple thanked nurses for their work during the pandemic.

The caption reads, "Thank you NHS [heart emoji]. At the Royal Berkshire Hospital, The Duke and Duchess thanked nurses for their tireless work during the pandemic. Among those that The Duke and Duchess met was Lead Nurse Rafael Fernandes, designer of a special badge funded by @nhscharitiestogether to mark the 2020 Year of the Nurse and Midwife."

Aside from getting to greet key workers, Middleton and Prince William were also treated to a special surprise from the crew behind the TV series, The Great British Bake Off. The team sent a cake to the hospital to celebrate essential workers and their efforts to fight against the coronavirus.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge began their tour on Sunday by visiting Euston Station in London. While there, they spoke with transport workers about how they’ve adapted to social distancing. And on their final day, the couple kicked things off by starting in Wales, enjoying a few holiday treats before concluding their trip with a visit to Windsor Castle, where they reunited with Her Majesty the Queen.

Looks like these two had quite an eventful tour!
