The Top 10 Royal Instagrams of 2020 (Spoiler: Kate & Will Posted 9 of Them)

2020 is officially over. And while we are all quickly trying to forget the majority of the crazy and confusing year, we’re also reminiscing about the few good things, including the sweet Instagram posts that were shared by our favorite members of the royal family.

And while Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles gave us many unique snaps offering a glimpse into their royal lives, it was Kate Middleton and Prince William that ended up with the most popular Instagrams (shared on their Kensington Royal account) of the year.

That’s right—the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their three children (Prince George, 6, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2) landed the top nine royal IGs in the last 12 months. The family’s most popular photo raked in a whopping 2.4 million likes, while their 9th most popular one gained an impressive 1.3 million.

However, they didn’t land all the top slots. Princess Beatrice managed to steal the 10th spot on the list with one of her posts. Keep reading to see them all.

10. Princess Beatrice’s Wedding

One of the biggest royal surprises of the year (aside from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s decision to step down as senior members) definitely deserves a place on this list. The image not only includes the happy couple, but Liz and Phil practicing social distancing as well.

9. Prince William’s Birthday

While the sweet snap may not have been taken in honor of William’s big day, the Cambridge clan shared a pic featuring the three kids and their dad rolling around in the grass as a way to say thank you for all those who sent the duke well wishes.

8. Father’s Day

In honor of the holiday, the family shared a slideshow featuring throwback pics of Kate and Will with their dads (one of which was even taken by the Duchess of Cambridge).

7. Princess Charlotte’s 5th Birhday

The mother-of-three showed off her photography skills once again when she shot this photograph of Princess Charlotte back in April.

6. Prince Louis’s Birthday Teaser

Ahead of the young royal’s second birthday, Kensington Royal shared a sneak-peek of his rainbow artwork. And yes, these images will live in our mind forever.

5. Kate & Will’s Anniversary Post

Because everyone loves a good royal wedding throwback.

4. Prince Louis (again)

As if the first set of rainbow paint pics weren’t enough, the duke and duchess surprised us all with a behind-the-scenes post of Prince Louis getting his hands dirty for his art project.

3. Princess Charlotte Portraits

In a separate birthday post, the royal couple shared photos of the young princess packing and delivering food for isolated pensioners in the local area.

2. Clapping For Heroes

All three children looking at the camera and clapping for frontline heroes? We’re not surprised this one came in second place.
