Ever since Kate Middleton released an edited photo of her family, the internet has been searching for an explanation. However, you should know that the Mother’s Day portrait wasn’t the royal’s first experience with Photoshop.

This week, news outlets found another image that was most likely edited by the Princess of Wales, 42, or someone at Kensington Palace. The picture was released on what would’ve been Queen Elizabeth’s 97th birthday back in April 2023, and it featured the late monarch posing with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.

A spokesperson for Getty Images told The Telegraph that “Getty Images has reviewed the image in question and placed an editor’s note on it, stating that the image has been digitally enhanced at source.”

As the outlet points out, there are several inconsistencies in the photo, including Queen Elizabeth’s skirt pattern and Mia Tindall’s hair. Since the picture was taken by the Princess of Wales, many believe that she digitally altered the image.

This revelation came one week after Princess Catherine released a photo for Mother’s Day, featuring herself posing with her three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5. When fans noticed the picture was Photoshopped, the royal issued an apology message

"Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing,” it read. “I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother's Day.”

We can’t believe we missed this.
