Kate Middleton’s Chic Regatta Outfit Just Gave Us a Case of Stripe Envy

Sure, Baby Sussex has officially arrived, but a royal schedule must go on. Hence, Kate Middleton and Prince Harry were out and about just a day after the birth of their nephew, this time kicking off the King’s Cup Regatta.

The duke and duchess launched the sailing regatta (which will take place off the coast of the Isle of Wight in August) at Cutty Sark in South London, a historic British clipper ship that now serves as a museum in London. Naturally, Kate dressed the part to a tee.

Her nautical look just reaffirmed our belief that stripes are always a good idea. The duchess paired a nautical striped navy and white sweater with a pair of L.K. Bennett sailor pants (which are already out of stock, of course) and Emmy London pumps, per Harper’s Bazaar.

Not only did Will and Kate launch the regatta, but they're actually slated to sail in it, too. According to an official announcement, the two will compete as “skippers of individual sailing boats, in an eight boat regatta race” and the winning team “will be awarded The King’s Cup, a historic trophy first presented by King George V at Cowes’ Royal Yacht Squadron in 1920.” Each boat represents a charity being supported by the Cambridges and the event is meant to raise awareness for each cause.

The race is scheduled for August 9. Will, you better find your stripes—look's like you've got some fierce competition in Kate.
