Jonas Brothers Wear Purple Ribbons to Grammys to Honor Kobe Bryant & Daughter Gianna

The Jonas Brothers wore a small—yet meaningful—tribute to Kobe Bryant at the 2020 Grammy Awards.

Tonight, the music industry’s biggest stars gathered at the Staples Center in Los Angeles for the 62nd annual ceremony. The Jonas Brothers—Kevin, Nick and Joe—walked the red carpet wearing coordinating gold ensembles, and we couldn’t help but notice they also honored the retired NBA player, who sadly passed away this morning after a deadly helicopter crash.

The Jo Bros wore a small purple ribbon on their left lapels in honor of Bryant, who had a 20-year career in the National Basketball Association (NBA) with the Los Angeles Lakers.

According to a fan, the boy band also refrained from doing interviews on the red carpet. Many believe the gesture was out of respect for Bryant and his daughter, Gianna (or “GiGi”).

“They also decide to not participate in any interview to show some respect,” the tweet read. “They’re really the most unproblematic and respectful artists.”

During the Grammys, the Jonas Brothers took the stage while their wives—Danielle Jonas, Priyanka Chopra and Sophie Turner—watched from the audience. Not only did they perform their hit single “What’s a Man Gotta Do,” but they also previewed a brand-new song, titled “Five More Minutes.”

Talk about a class act.
