Fatherhood looks good on John Stamos.
The actor, 55, and wife Caitlin McHugh, welcomed their first son, Billy, last April. And now, he's—very sweetly—opening up about being a dad.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Uncle Jesse Stamos admitted to being a softie with his son whilepreviewing an exhibit of his original art at the Malibu Lumber Yard.
How much of a softie, you ask? Stamos admitted to "crying on my way [there]" after spending the weekend with Billy. Calling him "the most beautiful baby," Stamos added, "He's just so innocent. I've never seen so much joy on a kid before today. You want to protect him."
As for what the future holds, Stamos isn't sure he's comfortable with his son following in his footsteps. "I don't think [I want him growing up in show business]," he said.
Still, Stamos is certainly finding the humor in all that having a baby—and even trying to have a baby—has to offer. Last fall he stopped by Busy Tonight to tell a slightly NSFW story about a strange fertility clinic moment.
“This is an absolutely true story and I’ve been waiting to tell this story,” he told host Busy Phillips. “[We were] trying to get pregnant and we had to do a thing, and we had to go to a fertility, ya know, place. And I had to go give a sperm sample.”
Stamos went on to discuss his awkward run-in with himself, adding, “They said, ‘If you need any stimulation or whatever there’s videos and there’s a TV here, just turn the thing.’ I turn the TV on, and it’s on Fuller House. And I’m like, ‘If I’m going to masturbate to myself, it’s going to be my old self, not the new one.’”
It bears repeating: Have mercy.
