Not only did Boy Meets World star Danielle Fishel marry producer Jensen Karp this past Saturday, but she also got the musical treat of a lifetime.
John Mayer sang a cover of Beyoncé’s quintessential wedding song “XO” for the couple’s first dance. Fishel thanked the singer via Instagram and shared a sneak peek of his performance, which is not as exciting as Beyoncé performing it, but pretty cool nonetheless.
In standard John Mayer fashion, the “Your Body Is a Wonderland” singer strummed an acoustic guitar and played the harmonica while the couple danced along.
Fishel captioned the clip, “Jensen brought many new and wonderful friends into my life and the friendship of @johnmayer is at the top of the list. His immense talent is only overshadowed by his humor, his heart, his sincerity, his loyalty, his candor, and his generous spirit.”
The IRL Topanga’s praise of Mayer continued: “We are beyond grateful and thrilled that he was not only a groomsman but agreed to sing our first dance song. I’m obsessed with his cover of this song (XO by @beyoncé) and he played it for us live at the Forum last year simply because I told him how much I loved it. Thank you, John, for all of it.”
It seems John Mayer has had a packed wedding season. Two weeks ago he attended Fuller House star Bob Saget’s wedding to Kelly Rizzo.
His next wedding performance? Hopefully ours…
