IT's a doozy

Joanna Gaines is back at it again. And no, I'm not talking about another epic kitchen reno or a reclaimed wood moment on one of her home renovation shows—this time, she’s getting back to the land (literally) with her annual honey harvest. But this year’s tradition came with a twist… and required a little climbing.

ICYMI, Joanna and Chip keep bees on their Texas farm and every summer, she shares a behind-the-scenes look at the sweet process of collecting honey with their kids. From suiting up in beekeeper gear to scraping the comb and filling jars, it’s become a bit of a fan-favorite family tradition. But in her latest Instagram Reel, posted this weekend, Joanna revealed that things didn’t exactly go as smoothly as usual.

“Honey harvest day at the farm,” she captioned the video, which showed clips of the whole Gaines crew working together, plus one surprising moment: Joanna climbing in and out of a side window.

“The bees were hanging by the front door so we had to go in and out the side window, which made it a bit more challenging,” she explained.

Despite the unexpected entrance, she kept her cool (and her sense of humor) the whole time. “So proud of our bees, they work so hard,” she added.

Longtime fans will remember that last summer, Joanna shared a similar honey-filled moment, posting footage of her, Chip, and their sons Crew and Duke harvesting fresh honey straight from the combs. She called it her “favorite day of the year on the farm,” and honestly, I get it.

This year might’ve required some window gymnastics, but that golden payoff? Totally worth it. Now the only question is: how do I get my hands on a jar of that honey?
