Here’s How You (or Your Single Friend) Can Be a Contestant on Season 24 of ‘The Bachelor’

the bachelor

Season 23 of The Bachelor is coming to an end tonight (sigh). But luckily for us, there seems to be no end in sight for the series and we’re all already looking forward to what’s to come.

Although the popular ABC show isn’t scheduled to return until 2020, after new seasons of The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise, it looks like they are already casting for ladies interested in meeting the next Bachelor. If you (or someone you know) is one of them, here’s everything you need to know about applying. Like anything else, there are quite a few rules and restrictions. For instance, you have to be a United States citizen, have a valid passport and be at least 21 years of age at the time of application.

But now, the good stuff:

Mail-in and Online Applications
These applications can be found on the casting website. Fill out the forms (which include info about yourself and pictures) and submit them online or via mail at this address. The app also suggests a video supplement (not required but definitely encouraged) introducing yourself to show off some of your personality. Don’t worry if that sounds intimidating, ABC provides some guidelines and instructions on how to create the video. Don’t expect to receive your pictures or videos back, they have a no return policy for anything sent in the mail.

Casting Call
Another option is to go to a casting call. The Bachelor’s website currently reads, “We are now casting girls for the next season of Bachelor! We encourage you to attend one of our open casting calls located in a city near you (see details below).” Unfortunately there are no dates and locations yet, so keep an eye out (and maybe fill out an online app while you wait).

Nominate a Friend
And of course, you can nominate a friend. Maybe you know someone who is too shy, but you think would be a great addition to the new season. Nominate them by applying online or by mail (the same way you would for yourself). Only this time, make sure you check off the “Nominating Someone” option.

We have no idea who the next Bachelor could be. That info won’t be released until The Bachelorette finishes airing.

Maybe you’ll be the next one to have the Bachelor jumping over fences. Hey, it’s possible.
