Hilary Duff Shares First Cast Photo from New ‘How I Met Your Father’ Series

Filming for Hulu’s How I Met Your Mother spin-off, How I Met Your Father, is officially underway and Hilary Duff is giving us a behind-the-scenes sneak peek.

On Tuesday, the 33-year-old shared a snap of herself, alongside the rest of the cast, holding scripts during what we assume to be the first day of filming. “Who’s ready for us???” she captioned the post. “We may or may not have been sitting in front of a certain someone's apartment…. #himyf.”

By the looks of the comments, fans are definitely ready. One IG user wrote, “I can’t believe this is actually happening. I’m so damn excited,” while another follower chimed in, “We are ready! I love this! And look at how diverse this cast is can’t wait!”

This is the first official shot we’ve seen of the group since the streaming platform announced the cast last week. In addition to Duff, who portrays the lead, Sophie, the series will also star Promising Young Woman actor Chris Lowell, Grown-ish’s Francia Raisa, The Royal’s Tom Ainsley and Space Force actress Tien Tran, all of whom are present in the image above.

The 10 episode series, which doesn’t have a release date quite yet, will take place in 2021 and revolves around Sophie and her close group of friends as they try to navigate their lives. Oh, and Sophie will be telling her son the story of how she met his father (duh). Like the original, the sequel series was created and executive produced by Craig Thomas and Carter Bays.

In the words of one Instagram commenter quoting Barney Stinson, “This is going to be legend-wait for it-DARY.”
